Audiovisual (AV) systems have evolved from the invention of the television set in the 1920s to immersive experience applications spiced with artificial intelligence. The infrastructure required for the networked distribution of AV system signals has also evolved. The increase in supply and competition from balanced cabling and fiber optic solutions brought with it a number of claims that are not always true. Therefore, it is necessary to differentiate the myths of the realities for better decision making in the choice of physical infrastructure to support AV applications.
