The magic of the sea powered by technology: The case of the Veracruz Aquarium

Undoubtedly, audiovisual technology is a focus of great importance to achieve that impact and attract the attention of each of the members of the audience.
In environments such as museums, science centers or aquariums, state-of-the-art AV solutions not only captivate people, but also enhance the narrative of the place, strengthen the emotional connection and elevate the educational value.
A paradigmatic example of this transformation is the recent remodeling of the Aquarium of the Port of Veracruz, one of the most important tourist and marine conservation icons in Mexico. Thanks to an ambitious project promoted by the State Government, this space took a technological leap that positions it as a national reference in immersive experiences.
A facade that catches the eye from the first glance
One of the most innovative elements of this renovation was the implementation of LED technology on the main façade of the building, combining architecture, thematic design and cutting-edge technology. LEDEC, a company specialized in high-performance LED display solutions, was in charge of supplying and installing an imposing 136 square meter outdoor display with 6 mm pitch, visible from Manuel Ávila Camacho Boulevard.
This display, part of LEDEC's ST Series, is designed to operate outdoors in all weather conditions, guaranteeing exceptional brightness, contrast and resolution. Its ability to display 3D content has turned the façade into a true window to the marine world, providing visitors with a captivating visual experience from the very first moment.
Technology, design and education united
The intervention was not limited to the exterior. LEDEC also participated in the creation of immersive rooms inside the enclosure, integrating screens and audiovisual technologies that allow a deeper connection with the marine ecosystems. The entrance to the aquarium was decorated with illuminated figures of jellyfish and fish, reinforcing the theme from the entrance and immersing the visitor in a sensory environment from the very first step.
The installation of the display was completed in just three days, demonstrating not only the operational efficiency of the LEDEC team, but also its ability to work in synergy with architectural developers and technology integrators.
A milestone for the AV industry
This project marks a key moment for both the Veracruz Aquarium and LEDEC. For the aquarium, it means offering an enriched experience that combines entertainment, learning and environmental awareness. For LEDEC, it represents the consolidation of its ability to implement highly complex projects with high quality standards, strengthening its position as a strategic partner for integrators and developers in the professional audiovisual sector.
In addition to being a renewed tourist attraction, the Veracruz Aquarium reaffirms itself as a center for scientific dissemination, environmental education and marine conservation. AV technology not only enhances the visitor experience, but also amplifies the impact of conservation messages, something vital in an era where sustainability is a global priority.
