Ricardo Lavalle
A guitarist, composer, mixer, and sound designer originally from Mexico City, whose work explores the boundary between musical structure and sonic intuition. Trained in musical composition at CIEM and later in audio technology at The London Music School, his practice bridges acoustic methodology with electronic experimentation.
Since 2004, his compositions have taken many forms—advertising, short films, multimedia pieces, and video mapping works presented in Mexico and abroad—where sound becomes architecture, texture, and narrative. His recent work as a mixer and sound designer at Splendor Omnia extends this exploration into film, viewing audio as a living space that shapes perception.
Ricardo’s current projects—Love in Reverb, Math Max II, and Ningen—focus on creating soundscapes where improvisation, technology, and narrative converge. His practice seeks to foster new ways of listening: liminal spaces where the mechanical, the emotional, and the imaginary intertwine.
