Gil Castro is a media director born in Mexico City in 1984. His work focuses on interactive and immersive multimedia installations. Inspired by anthroposophy and the relationship between science and art, his work explores new ways in which we can communicate through art and technology.

With 20 years of experience in the in-depth study of Anthroposophy and the work of Rudolf Steiner, 12 years of experience in developing immersive and interactive experiences, and extensive knowledge in technology-focused new business development, he has given lectures at festivals and artistic and cultural institutions in Mexico, the United States, Canada, and Spain, including the TouchDesigner Summit, Mutek, OFFF, TEC, Universidad del Claustro de Sor Juana, Universidad Centro, and others.

Co-founder and Creative Director of INTUS Interactive Design and InSpace—which operate two spaces dedicated to immersive experiences in Mexico City—with more than 12 years of experience in the field of interactive technologies and multimedia experiences, Gil Castro has led more than 250 successful projects and exhibitions developed using interactive technologies, including art galleries, event production, stage design, and multimedia experiences.

He designs his own real-time tools and generative 3D visual systems, creating moving graphics using algorithms and building new worlds to transform perceptions of nature and space. He has directed and led large-scale national and international projects and is a master at making any dream a reality.

STATEMENT: Art—especially art created with technology—can offer us the opportunity to reflect on and connect with what it truly means to be human. Technology is often seen as a source of disconnection in the modern world, but I believe that just as we need light and shadow to see the world around us, technology can also be a tool for human connection and spiritual awareness.

Through the creation of immersive and interactive art using technology, I strive to explore what it means to be human and how we inhabit this world on more than one level.
