Ana Paula Olmeda Trujillo

Student Coordinator of Operational Resources and Experiences (CORE), University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) Learning Environments

I’m Ana Paula Olmeda, a Mexican mechanical engineering student at The University of Texas at El Paso, set to graduate in December 2026. I’m a full-time border commuter student and am currently part of UTEP’s Fast Track program, which allows me to begin my master’s degree in mechanical engineering while completing my bachelor’s degree. I work with UTEP Learning Environments as a Student CORE (Student Coordinator of Operational Resources and Experiences), where I oversee the day-to-day operations of our makerspace, including student staff, training, equipment, maintenance, safety, and overall organization. I also support classroom technology and audiovisual systems, with experience in AV installations, system upgrades, troubleshooting, and equipment integration. Outside of Learning Environments, I serve as this year’s Project Manager for UTEP’s AIAA Design/Build/Fly team, helping lead a team of more than 50 members through the design, manufacturing, testing, and competition process.
