Delivering data and power to remote audio and video devices often involves challenges related to distance, redundant cabling (such as separate signal and power lines), and electromagnetic interference, especially in large-scale installations or critical infrastructure.

This session presents the current options for powered fiber optics to address these challenges: how to simultaneously transmit both signal and power over fiber; which audio and video scenarios can benefit most from this technology—such as long-distance installations, areas without nearby power access, or environments with high interference; and what criteria to consider when determining when this option is more suitable than traditional cabling.
