AVIXA Conference - From Selling Boxes to Building a Business: The New Business Model in the AV Industry

October 21, 2026
Education 1 - Monte Albán
Business and Project Management

Many companies in the AV industry are built on the technical expertise, business acumen, and experience of their founders. However, as they grow, one of their main challenges emerges: the owner remains involved in virtually every decision, from sales and quoting to supervising projects, troubleshooting, and serving customers.

This session addresses the transition from running a business to building a company capable of operating and growing without the owner having to be at the center of every decision. Drawing on real-life experiences, the discussion will explore what it means to professionalize operations, delegate in a structured way, develop teams capable of making decisions, and build processes that allow the business to scale without losing control, quality, or profitability.

A conversation for AV industry entrepreneurs facing a fundamental question: Are they building a company, or simply an operation that still depends on them to function?
